It has been an exciting spring for the Alumni Association! We’ve hosted alumni at events up and down the West Coast, debuted a brand-new Alumni Portal, and hosted our first ever alumni event in the ULab. It’s a great time to be a Puma!

California Travel

In April, I traveled with Head of School Ronnie Codrington-Cazeau and Director of College Counseling Kelly Herrington to make a long-overdue visit to our alumni living in California. We began our trip in Claremont, where we met up with alumni currently studying at the Claremont Colleges. Erica Perkins Jasper ’97, the athletic director for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, co-hosted an event with us in her offices at Claremont McKenna. We then drove to Los Angeles, where we met up with young alumni at University of Southern California and Loyola Marymount University. We had a great evening event in West Hollywood with alumni who graduated between 1986 and 2018. We also had a fabulous time reconnecting with Bay Area alumni, including a lively evening with alumni from 2013 to 2019 in the Financial District of San Francisco and a lovely visit with alumni at Santa Clara University and Stanford. We returned home with many new alumni stories and a desire to return to California in
the future.

Alumni Reunion

On June 8, we hosted our Alumni Reunion on campus. All graduating classes were invited to return to campus, with special invitations to classes celebrating their milestone reunions: five-year, 10-year, 20-year, 30-year, and 40-year. Nearly 100 alumni, their guests, faculty, and Founders gathered for our first ever alumni event in the ULab. Guests enjoyed reconnecting with each other, exploring the ULab, and returning to the main campus for tours throughout the night.

Sounders Event

On June 22, we gathered for our third annual alumni event at Lumen Field for a Sounders game. Alumni, their guests, and UPrep faculty and staff joined us to cheer on the Sounders and our Puma on the pitch, Jackson Ragen ’17, as they defeated FC Dallas. It was a fun evening, and we look forward to hosting our alumni community at a Seattle sporting event next summer!

Alumni Portal

Earlier this spring, we launched UPrep’s first Alumni Portal! We created this portal in response to the requests in the alumni engagement survey for more opportunities to engage with each other. This portal, which is accessible to all UPrep alumni, also includes an alumni directory. The goal of the portal is to give
our alumni a digital place to meet all their UPrep-related needs. When you log in, you can register for events, update contact information, network, sign up to volunteer, peruse old yearbooks, and more. The portal is accessible to all alumni by clicking on the Portal Login link on the UPrep webpage, universityprep.org.
